Mini implants are similar to regular dental implants, but are exceptionally smaller, often less than 2 millimeters in diameter. Mini implants are a developing treatment method that offers several advantages over traditional implants, and are only offered by certain dentists. We are proud to offer patients the numerous benefits of this exciting new treatment. More and more of our patients are taking advantage of mini implants to effectively restore function and appearance to smiles with missing or damaged teeth.
Despite their size and original purpose to provide temporary support for dental replacements, mini implants can effectively serve as long-term support structures for crowns, bridges and dentures. They depend on the support of the actual structure, rather than integration with the jaw bone. Patients who would require a bone graft in order to receive traditional implants can receive a mini implant with no need for additional treatment, while still enjoying the same long-term results.
